I am Sophia Randall, a graduated senior from Dimond High School in Anchorage, Alaska. I am currently attending BYU Hawaii. I love the outdoors, art, and humanitarian work. I didn't want a traditional desk job so I created a solution combining my passions. My handmade earrings are inspired and named after the outdoors. each pair of earrings is its own piece of art, and the profits have paid for my recent humanitarian trip to Peru this summer- "Volunt-earrings"! (pictures below)
My goal is for Zella&Grace Jewelry to pay for my college and to pay for future humanitarian trips. Currently I am saving for a trip to Uganda where I would be teaching English to kids in underprivileged circumstances to help them have more opportunities for employment. Thank you so much for your support!
I handmake each pair of earrings using copper as a base metal with enamel fired on top. All earrings have a sterling silver ear-wire. Slight variations may occur from the pictures shown because every pair is handmade. Orders will be made within 3-5 business days with an additional 3-5 shipping days. If you need your order sooner than that or would like a custom order please leave your information down below in the comment section and I will get back to you ASAP!
Patsy Takemoto was a third generation Japanese American born in Hawaii in 1927. From a young age she was interested in politics and won her high school election becoming class president. Patsy graduated as valedictorian and then went to college at University of Nebraska. Because of significant racial discrimination, she transferred to University of Hawaii. After college, Patsy attended law school at the prestigious University of Chicago Law School, where she met her husband, John Mink, and gave birth to her daughter. They returned to Hawaii where Patsy started her own law firm after being turned down for law positions based on racial prejudice. She was influential in Hawaiian politics for many years before running for Congress. Patsy went on to be the first woman of color elected to the U.S. House of Representatives. Patsy was not only the first Asian American woman to serve in Congress, but also to run for president. As a congresswoman, Patsy fought for gender and racial equality, sponsoring important legislation like the Women’s Educational Equity Act and Title IX. Patsy Takemoto Mink is a stunning example of perseverance, hard work, and determination. These earrings are named in her honor. Shop the Patsy earring down below.
